Rees Thomas has also assisted in due diligence studies and technical audits for the assessment of potential resource acquisitions; and is qualified as A Competent Person (CP) under the JORC Code.
Under the guidance of Rees, Zeewood has extensive experience in conducting successful projects across Queensland, Interstate and Overseas.
Zeewood has been working in exploration and the mining industry since 1995 with an emphasis on coal exploration.
Over the last 15 years, Zeewood has had extensive involvement in the development and execution of exploration strategy covering the tenements which are now key assets among the Peabody Energy portfolio.
In that period, Zeewood and its key management have been involved in the identification, development and assessment of significant resource opportunities initially for Ken Talbot, then Macarthur Coal as a private company, through that company’s IPO and ultimately through the subsequent acquisition by Peabody.
The long term involvement of Zeewood has provided its key management and geological team with a unique detailed and comprehensive understanding of the attributes of each of the individual tenements as well as the distinctive geological characteristics of the local region.
That extensive specific experience and understanding of the nature and extent of resources in this area enables Zeewood to be able to continue to provide Peabody with expertise over and above the normal scope of the geological services contract.
